Andrew Akerman, MD
Andrew Akerman, MD is a physician specializing in Neuroradiology. He has been practicing diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine in Miami, FL since 2006. He graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a double major in Biology and Political Science. At the age of 16, Dr. Akerman sustained a C6 spinal cord injury, which rendered him quadriplegic. The only quadriplegic in the country attending medical school at the time, he completed his medical education at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He followed this achievement with a 4-year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at North Shore University Hospital, and then a sub-specialty fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Akerman has served as a Forensic Radiology Expert Witness for both Plaintiff and Defense on a variety of Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury and Product Liability cases. He places great importance on being a patient advocate, due to his unique personal background as having once been a patient himself. He is available for Expert Radiographic Consultation, including review of radiographic imaging studies, medical records and depositions, as well as providing deposition and trial testimony. Sean Mahan, MD
Sean Mahan, MD, is a diagnostic radiologist who received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, and a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He later finished his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia, and then completed a fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center. His board certifications include the National Board of Medical Examiners Board Certification and subspecialty Board Certification from the American Board of Radiology
Dr. Mahan lectures at the University of Central Florida, and he teaches radiology and clinical correlation to the doctors of physical therapy students, and he also serves as the team radiologist for the Orlando Predators. Dr. Mahan performs fulltime radiology duties including the interpretation of MRI, CT, ultrasound and Xray.
Dr. Mahan has served as a forensic radiology expert witness for both plaintiff and defense on numerous radiology cases that include medical malpractice, product liability, and personal injury. He is available for expert radiology consultation, review of studies, medical records and depositions, as well as providing deposition and trial testimony. Specialty areas include second opinion reporting.
